Hi. New forum member and could not find the answer in previous posts. Hoping you can help. Bought my first Moto Guzzi (1400 California Touring, 2014) three weeks ago. Previous owner (not reachable) installed an aftermarket swept back, smaller diameter handlebar. I found a replacement NOS handlebar "out of box" with part label #887549. Using calipers, the diameter is 28 mm. The hole in the handlebar risers is 24 mm. This seems a mismatch. Wrong handlebar, wrong risers, or am I missing something? Easy fix? Thanks! (P.S. if I've committed any grievous errors in posting please correct me so I get it right the next time.)

The risers look wrong to me. This picture shows mine from my 2014 Custom.

Although I’ve just had another look and I’m not sure. I’ll go measure my bar diameter in a mo.

The bars are 28mm. Here’s a detail shot...

the cutouts in my risers are heart shaped and the tops are rounded. Yours are different!

Hi Paul,
Thank you for your efforts in getting those photos and the quick reply. My risers are, indeed, different. Guess I will be looking for stock risers unless someone has a better idea. (I would not be one to bore out the risers I have to make the bar fit...would hate to lose the chrome.) One of the pitfalls of buying a used bike...but every tweak to bring her back to her glory days just makes her mine all the more!
