Amici,
A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, a car clipped the front wheel of my LM 1. At the time, my bike was parked, rear wheel to the curb, steering-lock engaged.
The impact tore off the steering lock, bent the triple clamp stem and busted a fin, amazingly enough the only damage. I replaced the front end with 38mm Marz, and because I distrusted the crappy mag wheels, replaced them with spokes. I've never used the steering lock since.
I kept the original forks and triple clamp and set out to restore them. I've done the forks. The stem has a slight kink in it which prevents removal of the lower bearing race. Can I replace the stem (another question; how does one remove the stem?), or does the lower triple clamp have to be replaced as a unit? Do these parts even exist?
