So I have had my V7 for nearly two years now and not come across another rider on my trips out in Sunny Essex / Suffolk. I even popped in to the UK Guzzi day on Sunday afternoon and didn't see a single private owned V7. So how many UK V7 riders frequent the forum and where are you all hiding?

My wife is a classic V7 owner over the last 5 years, and we hide in Scotland along with a number of other V7 riders.I have a 750 Breva. Often we visit the pennine group for camping week-ends and run outs.:)

I live in Leeds and have just bought a V7Ii Special. We've a specialist Guzzi dealer/customiser not far from here, and another dealer a little way up north, but I don't see too many around. Mermoto, my dad bought a Guzzi in the 60s from Newcombes, in Chelmsford. I think they cease to be a Guzzi dealer not long ago. Were they your dealer?
This looks like the best forum for a V7 rider, even though it's not English. The Owners's Club forum and the other British one seem pretty dead.

My baby came from Corsa Italiana which is some way from me. Guzzitech is my favorite forum

Well, I just bought my Moto Guzzi v7ii Special a few weeks back. Looking into customising it up, but with the bloody shitty exchange rate all the stuff in the Guzzitech store I like, is around 100 pounds more expensive, so I'm stuck waiting.

Any suggestions on custom parts in UK other than gutsibits?

What sort of things are you after?
I've added a Dart Classic screen, and I'm upgrading the shocks tomorrow. I've got the OEM rack and have put a Givi cargobag on it. I'll probably stick with the OEM pipes. There's not an awful lot more that you need to do. It's not a Harley, after all.
I was tempted to have Moto Strada do a custom paint job. I considered getting a Stone and having the tank lacquered. But there are too few of us around to need to do something to make the bike stand out. It does that in standard form.

Well I've always had an eye on doing my own custom bike. Have you seen the Venier Customs Tractor series? Minimal changes and still all about being a practical machine, but just downright beautiful.

I started a little blog about things I would like to do:

But a breakdown was:

  • Rear suspension: Hagon/Ikon still undecided
  • Silencers: Short upswept black coated
  • ECU Reflash
  • Heat wrap: Not really much of a performance upgrade as more aesthetic
Aesthetic Mods
  • Front Fork Gaiters (Black)
  • Front Fender: Short, black satin, stainless steel but would prefer aluminium for weight saving
  • Rear Fender Tail tidy – Still researching – Potential MotoBox v7 tailtidy, or custom fabrication.
  • Front light: Smaller, lower sitting.
  • Aluminium side panels / black
The parts offered by Guzzi are overpriced and as I mentioned the guzzitech or in general USA parts are screwing me with our exchange rate now!

Once it's all done, post photos. It'll be good to see what you've done. And don't dismiss Gutsibits. They're probably your best bet. Moto Strada can probably help too. Take a trip to Yorkshire. We've got the dragons under control.
