Pretty simple question; perhaps.
I'm noticing a significant difference in discolouration in the two exhaust pipes.
One is deep blue; the other closer to royal purple tinged in gold. The distance of the discolouration from the exhaust port is roughly the same 8 or so inches to the down turn.
I do notice a tiny amount of carbon residue at the muffler outlet on the side that is blue.
It appears the gasses in the cylinders are exiting at different temperatures. Would this be a correct guess?
I also hear a very slight stumble when the bike is warm and at idle. Do I need to re-gap the valves?... on the Blue side?
Or, could it just be a slight difference in metallurgy or chrome plating on the two pipes?

Single throttle body or dual throttle bodies? If the former, I'd suspect the valve lash. For the dual TB it could be TB balance, valve lash, or maybe even a problem with the O2 sensor.

My 2004 Breva 750 (2TB) had uneven pipe coloration. It stumbled, bucked, and blubbered - until I had the ECU reflashed by Todd on this board.

Over the next 10,000 miles the pipe coloration evened out and the bike now runs perfectly. Hard starting and pre-warmup problems disappeared. Transition from throttle off to throttle on is smooth as silk. It is an absolute pleasure to ride now.

Hello Peter, this bike is a 2013 model. Fuel delivery should be pretty consistent. That is why I thought about the valves.
Did the first service myself so 'operator error' is high on my list.
Regarding MotoGeezer recommending a re-flash... that is also high on my list. I've bought a set of mid-level shocks from Todd. Once those are installed I'll pester him about the front end. By then, 8 months of winter will have set in and I'll have time enough to have the ECU worked over.
thx to you both.
Yukonica.
