I did some research and it appears the the V65 shares the same or nearly the same frame as a Breva, I would like bring my old small block up to date. Any knowledge on upadating and modernizing my bike will be greatly appreciated.

Jim,

You are correct. The fundamental frame of the V65 is the same as the later fuel injected bikes. Lugs and attachments will be different and the rails under the seat may differ. Some frames have straight tubes, some curved. I'm not sure on the later models.

What do you want to achieve, aesthetics or engineering? The crankshaft is different and is longer on the V75's. The primary gear ratio is different so overall gearing will be diferent so if you want to modernise your V65 to modern specs you will need a V75 spec engine with fuel injection, all the electronics and a new gearbox. IMO it really isn't worth the cost and effort for the gain. It is very do-able and easy if you have the skills but by you asking then I'm guessing it may be a real project for you.

The easiest and probably the cheapest way to go about it is to buy a second hand Breva and sell your V65.

Good luck with it but I have 2 V65's and I wouldn't even consider the upgrade.

Cheers

Rod
