Picking up a 2014 Norge shortly. 14K miles. $8000. Everything seems solid. Offered a 2 year used bike warranty for $950. Was a little worried at first buying a used Italian motorcycle, but feeling better about my choice after being on this forum, seems the Norge is pretty solid and easy to maintain. Like to get some opinions from MG owners whether or not the $950 is worth spending or it’ll probably be a waste of money.
Would also appreciate any tips on what to take a second, hard look at before finalizing the deal and taking delivery. Thanks in advance for any advice. Getting back into motorcycling after about a 5 year absence.

That bike isn't even broken in yet, but it has enough miles that if anything ugly was going to happen, it should have happened already. Like most product purchased warranties, I'd say it is a waste of money. I'd just make sure all the oils plus brake and clutch fluid is changed and ride it.

I bought my 2012 with about the same mileage and I've had zero issues. Regular oil, tires and one set of brake pads. Fork seals started leaking after 2 years but I changed them when I put on a Matris front fork kit.
Not counting tires and upgrades, I haven't spent $950 in 4 years of ownership. Keep your money for upgrades.

Check Todd's offerings in the store tab above. The real game changers were the Matris fork kit, Matris rear shock and especially the flash tuner with one of his fueling maps.

Thanks, since I’ve only test ridden it the once I don’t know at this point what upgrades might or might not be beneficial. I’ll keep your reply and comments on the Matris products in mind down the road.

I would invest the $950 in mods and proper service along with a swingarm and suspension lube. Those are weak links and well documented here. The stepper motor (controls idle, also well documented here), also needs service in time. Plan on these as soon as you can... if DIY, even better. Any warranty (honestly) isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
