Hi all,

I would like to change my Triumph Scrambler with an older Moto Guzzi.

I'd like to start a project with an older carb Guzzi.
The design should be close to the current V7.
So my idea was to get a v1000 SP, remove the protections, mount the T5 fuel tank, higher and wider handlebar, spoked wheels, v7 850 front led light, add a V7850 style seat and a slimmer Dual Gauge.

Now, I would like some expert suggestions from you, guys.

The original idea was to get an old V7 and customise it but the missing dual front brake disks stopped me from doing that. The 850 T series started having the dual brake disks same as the v1000. I was thinking that using the v1000 as a base, I would benefit from the extra 100cc.
Is the v1000 any better in terms of engine, frame, and breaks than the 850 T5?

What dual gauge would you suggest? it must be analogic.
I would like to paint it like the new v7 850 Centenario. Do you think it will look nice having the silver engine rather than the black engine?
I may also upgrade the back rear shocks and Lafranconi exhaust.
Any other suggestions like front shocks, mirrors, handlebar etc... are accepted.

Thank you!

Sorta sounds like a boosted V7 Sport.

Hey Syd, you getn' back with "The Floyd?"
Yes, but not that sportish... I sold my Ducati Monster because of some back pain. I would say a V7'ised G5/T5.

Yes, I am going back with the Floyd, they are making a mess. 😂
