It also helps to burnish where the float needle seats. I take and taper a wood chop stick to burnish the seat. Just spin the chop stick against the seat. With clean needle and seat it should not overflow.

John,

If he polishes the inside to a mirror finish like I said in video 6, this will be superfluous. 👍

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS!!!

Every cell phone these days has a digital camera. You can take tons of pictures for FREE to reference back for how you took it apart.

NEVER NEVER NEVER rely on your memory. You will screw up!

Those metal washers are usually located on fuel stop receivers, float bowl drain plugs, jets attached to the top of atomizer tubes. I will have to look up the carburetor diagram and see if I can see it as I have never had these specific carbs in my hands before. Never worked on a V50... :D

Oh, and are you feeling sufficiently "abused" by me yet? Just checking... :D :p
No abuse felt here ! But i have to be honest your "hard" approach worked for me thus far! It gave me hope and also taught me not to be so stubborn :D who would've thought a guzzi can be the cause of a couple of life lessons. 😁

Non verbal communication is very difficult for me sometimes. I desperately wanted to get your attention focused, and it worked.

You are off and running now! That's always good to see and makes me happy.

Dellorto carb diagram vhb guzzi

I see a metal washer at 18 and at 3

Also, after reading the manual again, BOTH the Idle Speed Screw and the Mixture Screw are set at 1.5 turns.

The Idle speed screw is "screw the needle in until it just touches the slide, then 1.5 screws in for opening setting"

The mixture screw is seated VERY GENTLY, then backed out 1.5 turns, as the starting mixture point.

In this diagram from the actual service manual which you have. I possibly see a metal washer at 35, 16, 13, 12, 2

Also, please make sure that the float pivot pin 15 in the first diagram above, the pin the floats rotate on, is polished perfect! You do not want any binding on that shaft from the floats.

Yea i checked the manual thats metal washers but i have a paper washer, i saw today when i took the other carb apart theres only 1 paper washer under the thing where the float valve sits in.

Going to assemble other carb tonight and will take a video of the first startup.

The bowls are sealed by an o-ring that sits in a channel of the bowl, not a paper gasket. It is included with the carb kit part number 19939980.

Scott, hope you are well.

Ok so the only thing i can think of that i did differently was rotating the slide 180°

It seems to be running worse BUT the bike sounds way louder i dont know if thats a good sign or what.. But it seems to be misfiring worse than before but im not sure if that might be the plugs that fouled or the rotation of the the slides?

Sorry for the poor lighting in the vids and also the bike seems to be smoking alot more than before.
