Related but slightly off topic : those C clips to "hold" the piston pin... If I knew how difficult those are to put on I think I wouldn't have started this project myself but gladly asked a garage to do that for me. Just because of those damn clips.
I tried a whole sunday to put one in but no luck. Almost lost my eye 2 times. My fingers hurt.

"Shipping: Does not ship to Finland" :c
The only store in Finland that sell a somewhat similar tool it is 130euros hahahha.

The link of the tool on Ebay says size 18mm. I suppose that is the right size for the MG piston ?

I'd be happy to let you ship it to my house and then ship it on to Finland for you. Of course I have no idea right now what shipping to Finland costs.

thanks Bisbonian :)
Yesterday evening I remembered that we had a 3d printer at work. So I'm doing prototypes for a very very simple clip insertion tool.
I'm ok to share the .obj in case GTM wants to do small prints to give with the Kit.
The tool is very basic and probably won't last for 232441 clips but I think it will do the job for the 4 clips.

My 3d printed tool works like a charm. It won't last hundreds of clips but will do the job for a dozen of them at least.
I'll share the .obj file soon. I don't think GTM sells that tool on his store so I suppose it is ok I share it here ?

Excellent, please email it to me direct; info @guzzitech.com -- I'll put it in the downloads section.

I am almost done with the right side. And suddenly I have cold shivers of fear. I didn't check the piston orientation. Please GTM tell me the piston is perfectly symmetric and there is no side for it ?:sweating:

Bonus : if there is a side : is there a way from the top (with the upper cylinder head removed) to see if it is mounted the right way ? I pray I don't have to disassemble everything.

Direct email is best for timely questions like these, as I don't live on the Forum here, and I don't catch every post. The old piston batch had a crank rotation/direction arrow on top. The new batch that you got does not, so I'm 90% positive it's good either direction. More important is ring end gap. If you need more, please email me direct.

She is alive. I did the first start this evening. I didnt go for a ride yet. Im very happy and also very proud i managed to change them "myself".
I would say that the job was quite the adventure. After the first cylinder / piston the second one was already much easier.
Lets see what happens at the first ride ^^

Gentle wear in period ?

I'll try my best to keep the rpms low and not do any crazy revs or accelerations for some time yeah. I went for a short first ride yesterday and it was perfect. As many have said here earlier : it change the bike to another one, it reacts and sounds so different. Also it is not that easy to figure out what is normal and what isn't (beside the obvious "this not ok at all noises"). So far nothing weird tho, let's say "like before but more mean and strong", but I didn't go high in the rpms and didn't do fast accelerations either.

It definitely feels more strong in the low rpms already. Like when you start rolling you feel it wants to go forwards as opposed as before it was more sort of "please give me more throttle to start moving". Difficult to explain with words.
