I’m buying a new V7 850 but am concerned about the alternator output and its ability to handle my Apollo heated grips and my First Gear heated jacket liner. I’ve searched everywhere including the owner’s manual for a spec but couldn’t find anything. I’ve used both of these items on many bikes I’ve owned with no problem but on the forums people are saying the V7 Guzzi’s have low output except the V85TT.
Can anyone tell me the output or confirm that they use similar accessories on the new 850 with no problem ?

Get your potential dealer to assure you there won't be a problem.

I measured the draw on my Apollo heated grips to be 2.55 amps max @ 14.2 volts, motor running. You could do the same with the jacket liner. Sounds like peanuts to me.

I searched for the charging system output in watts. Couldn't find it either. So calculate the wattage draw of each accessory you want to use. I'd say if you are under 50 watts for your accessories you should be OK. BTW, Watts = amps X Volts.

Jacket is advertised at 90 watts. Is that too much ?

V85 owner manual indicates 430 watts. I would expect the V7 850 to be similar. Look under technical data in the owner manual. Electrical data is after everything else in the list in my V85 manual.
