V7 Sport intake question

I'm slowly trying to put my V7 sport back to origional configuration. I want to get rid of the K&N's I have and install the rubber intake housing with the aluminum velocity stacks. I have two sets, one is short with a very wide mouth which narrows down to the size of the carb intake and the other I have are a little longer and more of a tube than a wide mouthed velocity stack.

My main question is Which ones are the origional type used on the V7 Sport? are any of these the origional type?

If you are going to ride the bike, unfiltered air into an engine will do not good things. Using the K&N filters would be period correct. If you only look at it, the stacks would be OK, but cover the ends to prevent critters from taking up residence.

I am going to make a filtered screen with an oiled foam element which will give me pretty good protection and wont be noticeable. I agree the idea of no air filter whatsoever is not an option.

The short one is correct. I constructed a foam element for mine also to keep the stock look
