Hey,

2014 V7 Stone

Beautiful day to ride here in Charlotte NC, but I decided to finally install the after-market LED signals I've been putting off. They're low-end LED's. I wired in the the rears about a month ago, am just getting around to the fronts. I wired in a resistor on each and the rear have been working great.

Here's the problem...
Wired the left front: worked perfectly.
Plugged in the right front... Nothin.
Double checked all my connections: Look fine, not crossed, not weak.
Try the right aftermarket light with the left base connection: Works fine.
Plug the stock left light into the right base: Nothin.
Plug the stock right light into the right base: Blinks.

Long story short: The only light that works with the Right base connection is the Stock Right light. Not even the stock Left light will work.

I can't troubleshoot/problem solve this at all. Does anyone know why the right base connection not want another connection besides its original?

If any of this doesn't read well, I can sketch something up to illustrate it better.

Thanks for any insight.

SO, I figured it out.

Left side base was male to signal/female. I assumed the right was going to be the same.... It wasn't. Left base was female to signal male.

Every time I was plugging in the light, I was just connecting it to the other light. Dumb.

I'm going to leave this post up in case anyone else makes this mistake as well.

Glad you figured it out. BTW, Guzzi schematics are more like guidelines really. You never know what you may find on your bike. Not so much where the wires are going, but the colors vary from bike to bike. I guess its whatever Luigi got his hands on after a long lunch and too much chianti.

This is likely done to ensure the correct wires from the harness go to the correct side of the bike during assembly. I'm sure without such a distinction, a bike or two left the factory with the left light blinking when you pushed the switch right... :p
