Hi Everyone,

I just pulled the tank off my V7ii as I am doing the all metal fuel filter install. I also plan to pull the Evap canister out and do the associated plumbing mods.

Once completely disconnected, how do you actually get it out of there? It seems kind of tight...does an intake need to be removed?

Thanks!

Done. Left intake disconnected and moved out of the way to get it out, and mounting bracket removed. The line to the intake is capped, and new line to tank vent valve installed. That cylinder is empty.

I removed the evap canister from my Royal Enfield, but that's only because it was an aftermarket addon that was literally zip-tied to the front down-tube. I can't even see the evap canister on the V7, so I'm not too concerned about it.

Nice to know that it can be removed just as easily, though.

I did the fuel filter & canister "stuff" a few days ago . I'm having the tank painted & side covers so this is the time to do those mods . ran about 45 Mi. w/low fuel light on first. I always enjoy seeing how engineers think &seeing things when you work on their product . Clever folks o lake Como , I like using the top frame tube as an oil separator .a bit fiddly wiggling the tan off ,at least they give you enough hose to play with . as for those fuel line clamps & ended up cutting them w/a dremel tool w/cut-off wheel attachment ,did the breather hoses first . No sparks ! The dremel cut-off wheels seem to be soft enough ,I went through about 4 of them. To sneak the canister out I removed the right injector (one bolt) & unplugged the temp sensor wire, that gave me just enough room to wiggle canister out! Oh the bike is a grey 16 stone . tank & side panels getting new gray metallic w/2 black stripes down center & rubber knee pads on side , side covers get green, white & red stripes in line w/V7II logo . I'll try to post pics when its back together ,hopefully around Xmas . winter is about to descend around here &PMS (parked motorcycle syndrome ) sets in ! ttfn
