So I'm quite bored with the way the V85TT sounds when it's choked from that oven they call a catalytic convertor, and I want to install a Y-pipe and let that engine exhale with ease. Would it be detrimental to the engine where it could come to the point that an engine failure is just around the corner if I remove the cat without tuning? The bike currently has a slip on.

Many people run open exhaust systems without fueling fixes. I've sold a very small handful of Y-pipes and mufflers, despite what air/fuel data shows. The AFRs that Guzzi runs these motors at as delivered is a head-shaker, yet they offer a warranty.

Speaking of exhausts, @GT-Rx® do you have any insights on Mistral's full setup for the V85? It looks like they've got some larger headers, a Y-pipe, and a new hex muffler but I'm not sure how the bike would handle it without a reflash.

Please scan this thread from the beginning down. I will not comment on my competitor's systems, when I make a superior system with a lifetime warranty; https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/v85tt-exhaust-thread.19804/#post-155160 -- I will add it to the online Store once I finish the fueling kit and show dyno results also. Coming soon.

Hello Todd. I rambled on the registration thread about this topic - getting sorted with this forum. I am very happy you haven’t given up on your Mapquest! If you get that soon it will dovetail nicely with my V85TT purchase!
Love the craftsmanship of that exhaust and the sound is far superior to my ear. You’re gonna solve my need for power. Love it. I’ll be ordering the kit and don’t care about factory warranties.

Any word yet?? Just looking forward to your end product. I'm a modder and will be looking for more juice for sure. I'm sure you'll post when it's done and you have the dyno numbers....I'll keep watching and waiting. p.s. I'm guessing you didn't sell your v85tt since you need at least one for testing etc?
