V9 Registry & Picture thread -- ADD YOUR BIKE

Purchased new in September. It's been sitting on dealer floor for 4 years. Replacement for 2015 Honda CTX 700 which became unreliable at 63,000 miles. I use it every day and for camping trips in the southwest U.S.
Congrats and welcome to the GT Forum & Guzzi Famiglia. Hope you’ll add your info for the first post of this thread.
Where’d you buy the bike from? Hopefully they set it up properly for you, as the floor time is extremely long and not ideal.
Guzzis can be long term durable bikes (I had 264k miles on my original before transforming it) when set up properly and well cared for. Otherwise those who treat them like Hondas will always be disappointed. These are in large hand-built Italian niche machines.

Hello all,
Been riding a long time, been through most brands over the years, done the high power thing. We are all different of course but for me my wish list reads something like this looks, comfort, simplicity, shaft drive in probably that order. Now I’ve got nothing against anyone else’s rides or what they like so let me put that out straight away. So, with the ever tightening Euro5 regs and the likely end of the ICE looming I decided I needed to get my finger out and find/buy what I really liked before it’s too late. I managed to find a new V7 Centenario and I thought that was it until only a few days ago my absolute favourite turned up for sale on the used market with next to no miles on it. (Covid lockdown for most of 2020 and early 2021 kept mileages down). I hadn’t planned to have two bikes or whatever but I didn’t want to let it go so I bought my 2019 V9 Bobber Sport. So that’s it. After 30 years continuous road riding on all sorts I’ve ended up with two stunning (in my eyes) Guzzi’s. Just digging into the forums to find my feet.

Welcome !

I didn’t know there was a V9 Sport ?
So how long was it between each purchase ?

Not as long as I would have hoped TBH! Only a few weeks between them but I decided I would worry about all that after I got it. I got the all clear from my (lovely) wife so jumped on it. I knew the V9 Sport existed but also that there were very few (maybe half a dozen) imported into the UK in 2019. I think using Sport is a bit misleading because it isn’t sporty at all compared to very many bikes but it’s a nice looking thing. It’s got Ohlins rear shocks, a small alloy headlight spoiler, nicely machined alloy foot pegs and slightly re-styled exhaust caps, not forgetting of course that colour scheme. Those were the main differences over a standard Bobber. I know it’s a well worn cliché but I like how the Guzzi’s feel when you ride them, the whine, the thudding, the noise, they feel very analogue in a digital world. To me anyway.

I didn't know / realize it / they had the short fender in the back - I wonder if its transferable.
Other than that HUGE plate
It is not, due to the V7 frame bend and seat latch location.

Yea I know they are a bit hideous. You can get the plates made slightly smaller and just about get away with it. That makes a difference, I have one on order.

Near Barton upon Humber. I did see someone on a new 2021 orange V7 850 passing through a few weeks ago that looked nice. I was in the car in a line of traffic. A friend of mine recently bought a very nice 2016 V9 Bobber, he lives near Louth. I am going to nudge him towards joining the forum because it’s so valuable a resource. I love the Roamer BTW such a classy bike. Have a great Christmas.

Ah - not far away then, we'll need to schedule a gathering of the V9s at Willingham Woods one day or somewhere else mid way between us

Ride safe

Thanks. I live in Prescott, AZ and bought it at Powersports Outlet. (powersportsoutlet.com) They've been doing the service on my bikes for 20 years. I've had just about every bike (including 6 Harleys) since I've been riding for 60 years - start in 1960 when I was 15. This will probably be my last bike as I'll be 77 in a couple of months. I've added a luggage rack, side bags, Barkbuster hand guards, GIVI windshield and Corbin seat so far. I have about 2500 miles on it now. Would have more because I ride every day but we've had snow and rain lately in Prescott. I'm looking into either risers or pull-back bars - I like riding sitting straight up rather than bent over.

G'day Fred. You mentioned that you added a Corbin seat, is it the Gunfighter or Gunfighter & Lady you fitted ? I am looking toward the Corbin for my wife and I and was wondering if it gives any extra room (length) over the standard Bobber seat.

Gerry @ Fraser Coast Queensland Australia. VIN # ZGULHA005GM000717.
2017 Bobber purchased a week ago in a private sale from Sydney, flew down and rode it 1200 km (750 Miles) home,
smiling ever since.

This is my second Guzzi - previously owned a 1980 SP II. Been 47 years on two wheels (numerous Yamahas, Suzukis, Hondas, Triumphs x 3, my last bike prior to this was a C109 Boulevard) now back to Guzzis and that grin is getting bigger with every ride.
