Vin Number .

Emailed the seller...about the VIN# asking picture on the vin plate on the neck, here is the answer :

Hi,
the vin plate is missing, but the frame is also stamped MT 51727 and it matches the title. :?: :?

lmao !!

In 1975 Guzzi did not use a VIN, they used a serial number. In that era, the number on the engine and the ID tag did match, but numbers were not stamped onto the frame. I never heard of serial number starting with MT. If the plate is missing from the steer head, I would be suspect of the bike's lineage. Is the title possibly a salvage title or a state issued title based on assembly of parts?

seller sent me another email telling me that the vin # is stamped on the neck , title match frame and engine ,but he never did any comment to my questions about "MT " serial number... guess why...LOL
Obviously i smell something wrong.

I was just "surfing" on e bay , it's a nice bike so it caught my attention ....i don't usually "bust people balls" they can sell whatever they want , but someone less careful than me can buy a bike that's "hot" and maybe get in serious trouble.
I think that E BAY should be more careful on what sellers sell , but they don't check vin#s on old bikes....same for old cars.

Anyway i hope no one will buy it...
