G'Day all, New to this forum. I have a 04 Breva 750 and the EFI warning light comes on after riding for a few minutes and stays on till I switch off. Does not effect the running of the bike in any way. Any advise most welcome. Thanks. Ken.

With the small block bike you will need access to diagnostic equipment to read the fault code. Once you have that, we may be able to help. A dealer or a friend with the equipment to connect to the 15RC ECU can read the fault code(s).

  • Thanks John, Do you know if any harm can be caused by riding the bike with warning light on? as I do not have a dealer local. Ken.

If it appears to be running correctly, probably not. However I wouldn't wait long to find out the issue.

Update on my EFI light coming on, I refueled the bike a couple of days ago with my regular fuel 95 Ron and after riding for a few minutes the light went out and has not played up since. I then find out that my son after borrowing the bike filled it up with standard unleaded and that is when my problem started. Maybe one of our members can tell me if these events would lead to the EFI light staying on and if so help others with the same problems. Regards Ken.

Solution, don't let your son borrow the bike :):) Joke aside, I haven't the slightest idea why low octane fuel would trip the light. As far as I know there is no knock sensor on any Guzzi.

There have been reports (from New Zealand I think) of modern V7s running better on 95 RON than the "better" 97 RON petrol. Mine certainly does. Perhaps if the fuel quality is way out of spec it affects the EFI system.
David.
