We demand PICTURES! :silly:

Hmmm, dedicated thread in the Lounge, to complement the Griso, Breva, Norge (etc.) picture threads? ;)

Thanks Todd and keep up the good work.
We had a hard time living since the crash!!!! Don't want to experience this again!:)

BTW the new forum looks nice!

That explains that down time ;)

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Eagan :cheer:

I've been trying to log in like a madman to the old - no - the middleaged  board - for weeks now.
Glad I found the announcement 'bout this on the Guzzitech page!

Thank you for all efforts, Todd & Co!

PS; didn't miss the donation link. :)

Thanks all, and much thanks Holt. ;)

Current outages are connection issues that we're working on, and *not* server related. Bear with us.

Our IT guy at work has installed a program called HDDlife on a lot of computers. It monitors the health of a hard drive and he said it has saved him a lot of restore work.

good luck with getting it all back together.

I'll check it out Mark, thanks.

This new service will be very pricey to run, so any/all donations (preferably a few $'s a month) would be GREATLY appreciated. The main page is the place to go; http://Forum.GuzziTech.com for the Donation Link.

Thanks Todd,
I didn't know what to do with myself. I actually turned the computer off and went for a few rides.

Congrats on the nuptials.

Thanks Zapa & Aaron.

Most of the glitchiness over the weekend should be resolved now. The (AT&T) wire feed(s) to our private server was faulty, and had to be dug up this morning and replaced... and you thought maintaining a Guzzi was a bit rough, eh? We *should* be stable now, though I'm knocking on my head (wood).

Tonight, we added the Inbox link at the top when you're signed in. This PM software is much simpler then before. You only need to know part of the username to send a PM... simply select New Message, and start typing. Notification is only by *e-mail only* for right now.

I also added small amount of content to the Home page (be sure to vote on the poll there)... I still have hope that we will be able to recover the old data.

Is there a chance of restoring the old data? The old forum accumulated so much priceless information... I miss it every day.

Working on it since late Oct.
Over the weekend, I was able to have the host (horrible GoDaddy) reinstall a new hard drive in the server, which needed to be formatted, and now the old drive was piggybacked this morning in order for us to try and salvage any of the old data.
All of this takes much time, and hundreds of dollars. Our new server is privately hosted "in house" and is being backed-up properly now. With any luck, we will be able to retrieve a back up off the faulty drive, and integrate it here. As a step further, we are looking into how to bring the Archived Forum data in as well. This might mean a move to a different Forum software, so it's play as we go.

Donations accepted on the Home page (top tab) here, and will earn you a "GT Contributor" tag on your Profile. ;)

I'll keep everyone updated as I have the info to pass along. Wish us luck.

Honestly, I don't see why running a relatively small forum is such a major expense. I could run it from my basement without spending a penny. Of course I already have a computer which I use as a file server, a RAID-5 NAS box and a UPS. Setup and maintenance take time, but this is a hobby.

Mornin/Evnin boys and girls, men and women and Guzzisti all :)

He had a dream, so let the games begin..... The data is back, well some of it anyway.

As we speak I am checking out what we can put back into the ether for all to read - you can't keep a Guzzi down so they say and so it is for a RacerX and the cashed HDD data. No tappet cover was left in place, no sump cover unremoved, no head bolt too tight, no electrical short left sparkin, no gearbox left intact lest there be some hidden noughts and ones smirking at him from behind a main shaft, but RacerX has done the deeed and indeed what a deed it was. So to work good Guzzi peoples, the board is going where no Guzzisti board has ever gone before...

Enough of my twaddle, hopefully we can get as many of the useful posts back, and with the participation of all, the board will be pumping like days of yore - with one addition - we now have a DIRT monkey among us by the name of Stelvio :p

Cheers Big Ears

Thanks Mike. I'm still digging through some more of the back up data... I'll let you know if I can uncover anything worthy.

I will be glad to offer my help. I really want to get the old data back. I curse myself for saving links to the forum instead of copying text to my PC.
