Posted under the South Central Section as well, but worthy of it's own post here too:

Well, I did it. After years of saying I'd own a Guzzi someday, I entered the secret world of Moto Guzzi Thursday with the purchase of a Stelvio from Ducati Austin. I must say I'm a little concerned about the parts counter guy's lack of familiarity with the bike when I asked for a filter, crush washers and fluids for the first service. I did manage to get a $20 oil filter and a $20 bottle of 75W-90 gear oil. :woohoo: I have since ordered 10W-60 oil, crush washers and filters from MG Cycle for a fraction of the cost. Can anyone tell me where to order a service manual? I've found the User's Manual online, but the dealer tells me the service manual is not available.

Back to the bike. I've only managed a couple of hundred miles so far, but my ear-to-ear grin hasn't faded yet. I also spent two hours with a heat gun removing stickers! Plans are to mount a cross bar on the bars to hold a GPS, Purchase Hepco-Becker side racks and eventually mount Caribou cases. I already have H-B luggage on my Buell Ulysses, so they can share for the moment. I'd like to order M-G accessories as well, but the Stelvio isn't even listed on the USA site, what's up with that? Anyway, I look forward to meeting you guys and picking your brains for advice.

Yo Kurt - FANTASTIC - another red one :)

This is becoming monotonous though we are yet to see one in the flesh here

Anyway - welcome from the better side of the world where all the good weather is, mostly anyway. Congrats on the new ride and as RacerX says there's lotsa help here so post often.

Cheers, and don't loose that grin, no matter what - you're riding a thoroughbred B)

From one Kurt to another Kurt........welcome.

I have the red faster one as well

As far as MG accessories my dealer went right to MG web site (parts and accessories site) and order all af my stuff, still waiting on the hand guards though

Good luck with your new steed.
