I did have my avatar as a picture with me and my Indian as I hadn't ridden the Guzzi yet. Felt it would be phony to stick a picture up before I had thrown a leg over the saddle. The bike resides at my sons house in New Hampshire and he runs it often. The bike had only clocked 12K in 31 years so it was fairly stiff at first. Had the full servicing and took it out with the lad. I was not gentle. Rode it like I stole it, highway and twisties and it did great. Had so much fun we never really stopped for pictures and the gratuitous biker porn poses. Hence only this lousy picture in the garden shed. We rode fast and hard. While it ran great, it ran even better after getting limbered up. My son has told me it continues to smooth out and runs better every week. He was enamored with the Indian Scout, but the Guzzi is growing on him. Not sure I will be able to pry it away from him if I ever decide to repossess it. The bike had an electrical issue the dealer did not ferret out, but I went old school on it when I got there and just traced wires by sight until I found the problem. Some connectors came loose. Calm patience, some Sam Adams beer and five minutes running eyes over wires was all it took. Some bike mechanic have forgotten how to use beer as a trouble shooting tool. Pathetic really. The bike has one of those ridiculous 85 mph speedometers on it. Bike is rated for 122 mph. Judging by the Scouts speedo the old Guzzi must have gotten real close to that. Some might think that is irresponsible, but there is life after 60. One thing I learned, those old 850's are one hell of a running engine.
