What battery type for Griso?

I'm looking for a new battery for my Griso 1100. Does it use a type 18L? And are MG electronics picky about brand and type? I'd like to keep it under $100 if possible, assuming decent batteries can be had for that amount of money.

FYI, my current battery is a Yuasa YTX20CA-BS. This is a replacement for the original Yuasa that came with the bike when new.

EDIT: This battery has been very good to me. I installed it in Jan 2013, so that's almost 10 years ago. I keep it on a small battery tender in the garage most of the time. Probably had something to do with it. But since it's 10 years old I don't think I should trust it any longer. Bike still starts, but recently I left it off the charger for about a month and the bike would not start. I needed to charge the battery using my larger battery tender for a day or so to bring it back to life. So I think it's time for a fresh, new one.

Isnt the 18L wider?

I ran the Yuasa until going to a Shorai ages ago. I doubt youre going to find what most people would call "good" under $100 anymore.

Mine didnt have any issue with the switch, the only time Ive had any electronics issues is when the charge fell too low and everything would shut off. Ive also switched to an LED HL, turns, etc without anything funky.

Thanks guys. I definitely don't need "best". Just needs to be as good as this Yuasa. I'm thinking of selling the bike. I just don't want to put in a POS battery. And I do plan on keeping it on a tender also. I know that AGM batteries have gotten pretty common.

You could be right about the size. That GTM battery looks like a 20L actually. I'm not sure where I got the "18L".

I know what you mean about the pricing too. I wouldn't mind paying a little more, but $150 would be pushing my desired budget on this.

The GTM battery is much smaller and lighter than the Yuasa equivalent. I had to use all the spacers provided when I installed one in my 1100 Breva.

Lighter would be nicer, no doubt.

I ended up just ordering a Yuasa from the local CycleGear shop. Might be a different model number, but I hope it's equiv in all ways. $125 + tax. I'll find out tomorrow. There's a lot to be said about buying a battery direct from a local store. One being I can just give them my old battery and be done with it.

What LED bulb are you using? And is it a noticeable improvement over a QH bulb?
Always start with the STORE link above, i.e.

Thanks Todd. If I was going to hang onto this bike I'd definitely upgrade the headlamp. I've always found the stock headlamp 'adequate' at best.

Well, that battery thing at CycleGear was a bust. The one they ordered for me was too big. Their battery was about an inch too wide. I got my refund and walked out. Decided I'm not going to deal with them any longer. Next I'll try the local Batteries Plus shop. They show a selection of decent looking AGM batteries etc, that are spec'd to fit my MG. We'll see about that.

Also, in case anyone else is ever interested in Yuasa as a source, I wrote to Yuasa about that particular battery. Got an interesting response:
We do still make this, we did have trouble getting terminals so we are very far behind on making it. I do see Revzilla an online dealer has it in stock and ships free.

Nice that someone has them in stock, but I'll try find something locally before going "mail order" on a battery.
