I had the great good fortune to finally meet Mike and Janice Stewart yesterday, who live in Oakland, CA.
Mike owns a gorgeous RC, and as some of you may know, is a wealth of moto and Guzzi information, and also happens to
ride like the dickens - whether with Janice 2-up or not. It was quite a sight to see her - she is tiny - comfortably perched on that RC, while he made that bike just sing thru the curves. After messing with the bikes for a bit at their house, we took off to go to Half Moon Bay, discovered that many other people had the same idea, so took off on Skyline and went to Alice's Restaurant instead. Quite the scene there yesterday, with the gorgeous weather. You guys ought to see Mike ride Skyline with Janice - it was like watching a really cool ballet.... not the place to take pix while riding however....

It was a superb day of making new friends and riding Guzzis....

Hey J,

Thanks for that little shot in the arm!! I love all the pics of SoCal....but, I'm originally from Felton, and so love to see ride pics from those mountains!! You made my day!!

OK, Tim, this is not a good picture from the ride, but a little more norcal flavor for you - and I agree, there's nothing quite like it.....

+1. Been behind them-usually well behind them....on a number of occaisions, mostly around the late San Diego Rally.

Yes I too enjoy their company. Mike is a detail freak with his bike and Janice has a Ducati that is just as nice to stare at. Hope they do Prescott this year. I missed them last year.

P.S. See you soon Jami.

Larry -
Janice doesn't have the Duc anymore - has been busy getting her master's degree, which she just accomplished. We did talk about what a nice little graduation present from Mike another Duc or some kind of you-know-what would make....

Yes, see you soon!! I started thinking about doing some laundry last night for the OR, then caught myself in time!!! Clean clothes for the OR??? NOT!!!

I met them first in '01 in San Diego, then at the Grass Valley National Rally. Fun couple. Mike's been M.I.A. over the last few years, online and in person. I was surprised that they didn't make the Malibu National Rally last year too. Good to see they're still moto'in. Thanks for surfacing them, Jam.

Hey thanks again!

I have to do a NorCal ride later this year....hope to combine visiting family with Speedway in Auburn, plus my annual pilgrimage to the Bay Area. When I have a plan, I'll pass it on.......maybe we can get some riding in, and Fast Fridays at the speedway in Auburn are a blast. I've got two cousins there, and one down by Pat Hayes.

If you've never been into Big Basin State Park, try the road that goes there from Highway 9, south of Alice's, 136 I believe. You get dizzy from the curves.
