Hello all, just brought a Le Mans 1000 S2 in “many boxes” and want to build a cafe racer. Would like to have wire wheels but, as very new to the world of Guzzi stuff I am at a loss to know which wheels or just hubs will fit. Can go with just hubs as I can spoke up wire wheels. Thanks Richard

The wheels of a 1000S should fit but are probably impossible to find. Generally the hubs for wire spoke wheels are wider than cast wheels. You need to measure the maximum width between the fork legs to find out what offset the rotors need to have to a) fit between the fork legs and b) for the calipers to clear the spokes.
For earlier Le Mans models it was necessary to use the flatter T3 rotors since the originals had too much offset to fit between the forks in combination with the spoke hubs.

I've usually preferred cast wheels to wire wheels for the ease of maintenance and the ability to run tubeless tires. That said, the wire wheels on Racer are very pretty indeed, and the Borrani wire wheels on my 850T were also beautiful.

I'd love to convert Racer to the wireless wire wheels in the GT store, but that's a lot of money having just bought the bike, etc. Perhaps in a year or two.

Long ago we raced around the world, dirt bikes ,drag bikes, track bikes sprint bikes, even raced on ice.
Whilst in Iceland we met a guy running tubeless tires on his ice bike ( the wheels were spoked and ran stainless steel spikes)
With his original idea from the late 1990,s ( to us ) we have now run many miles on tubeless tyres & spoked wheels.( no spikes)
His method is probably well known by now.
Silicon around every nipple top.
Large amounts of silicon on the spoke land/valley.
Fit a tube ( pita )
Fit your tubeless tire.
Lay it down
