On the Griso side panels there is a chromed ring allowing a view through the frame.
If you remove this cover you find either the gearshift or the rear brake lever/brake light switch connected to it and, looking at the frame, you see a pipe running through the frame with a washer welded in place on each side...does anyone know why?
Is this an extra vent hole for the CARC? Is it just (heh heh) to lighten the Frame? Why are the washers welded in there? Is this a suspension point during Manufacture and the washers are to keep from damaging the frame while suspension units are installed? If these covers are removed and the pipe is sealed at both ends, will this cause any hardships later?
I've looked through what books I have and can't find a name, much less a function for this.
Any guesses?
