Will the Stucchi 8v crashbar fit on a G11?

That's right.
I went with the Hepco&Becker on the wife's bike and she crashed tested it, lol.
It bent but never went close to the juggs.
The Stucchi's too close to the cylinder which makes it a moot point IMO.
I wouldn't use it.

Thanks. I wasn't thinking of using them for my G11. I was just curious. If they fit, seems strange to me that there aren't notices everywhere saying "Also fits G11" or similar. That would give owners of older Grisos an option, and maybe Stucchi would sell a few more.

Actually my GF just ordered me a set of the Stucchi G11 style crash bars for my birthday. I have not seen them from every angle, but it appears to me that if they did bend back, they'd just hit the plastic sliders anyway, and stop. And I would rather that the bars took the grinding than the plastic bits... even though the bars cost more. Plus the bars do provide better protection in the event that the bike slides across and uneven surface. Also, I have the tools to fix/reshape a bar if that happens. (This is all just a theory at this point of course. :) )

I kind of like the Hepco&Becker version too, though they're a little more off-roady looking than the Stucchi. And they also look like they'd make nice platforms for mounting aux LED lights on the bike.

Couple things I don't understand about the Hepco&Becker bars though. Why the tiny upper bar? It looks like it would be pretty weak. but I don't now. Maybe the wall thickness is huge, or the whole thing's made of cro-mo (4130 steel) instead of mild. And I don't understand the purpose of that fat bar terminating like it does, up so close to the wing.... and why it goes up so high. I think I read somewhere of a guy who laid his Griso down and his Hepco&Becker crash bar flexed back and cracked his wing. The bar might not have bent permanently that far back, but it did add to the damage of the bike itself. I would be tempted to truncate that fat bar by an inch or so.

BTW, who sells those in the USA?

Thanks again. It's not on their web site. I couldn't find it among the crashbars, and a site search for "becker" didn't turn them up anywhere else.

Not a big deal though. I guess I will be trying out the Stucchis first.

You're right, it's not on their site... I apologize.
I'll ask the wife where she got them.

I found we got the H&B from those guys: http://WWW.moto machines.com
You can save 10% off with this promo code: AIMExpo2013 and that offer is valid until the end of December.
They're a true H&B dealer in the US too.
