So this is my first winter with my guzzi...I've found a grage to store my V50 for the winter months and wanted to know if anyone had any storage/winterizing sugguestions?

Previous owner told me to drain the gas tank, carburetor float bowls, & oil...and bring the battery inside until she's ready for the spring time.

I've attached two pages of the workshop manual that I'll be working off to drain the oil but otherwise im clueless so any tips are much appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

I suggest fill the fuel tank completely and add some Stabil. This prevents tank corrosion. Do drain the float bowls by running the bike until it shuts off.
It's recommended to change the oil, not drain (I don't recommend either). Plan on another change in the Spring as the condensation may be problematic if the bike lives in a non-conditioned space or outdoors.
Also pull and keep the battery in a room temperature location, and on a trickle charger once every few weeks/per month.

I always drain the carbs but fill the tank close to the top and add stabilizer. This prevents the build up of moisture in the tank for less rust. The less air in the tank the less moisture as when the temperature changes the tank breathes and moisture enters. As for oil the thinking is to change the oil before parking so the acids and moisture that build up through the year are gone. I normally change oil sometime in the winter as I normally do a complete tune up over the winter so it is ready for spring. Of course I have a heated garage which many people do not. I leave the battery in but attach a tender to it to full charge the first week of each month. I don't like leaving a tender on and I see no reason to remove the battery unless you have limited access where you keep the bike.
