Wiring problem

I have just returned from holiday de-stressed only to for my Cali to change all of that the first time I looked at it!
I thought it was going to be an easy MOT prep, start the bike after it's winter lay-up, inflate the tyres and go, boy was I wrong.
Re-connected the positive battery lead and started the engine, it started O.K. but on checking everything was working this occured;
Turn on lights, initially all working fine.
Brake lights good as is horn.
Right indicator was only working on rear, left side not working at all, then no indicators at all, hazard lights, or side lights front or rear and no dash lights.
When I turn on the hazard lights the flasher unit ticks but no lights, only light that comes on is the green warning light for the side/head lights on the dash panel like an earthing fault.
Now I only have head lights dip and high beam, horn and brake lights.
The only wiring I have disturbed is when I took off the forks to replace the seals, so only disconnected the front indicators, horns and head light.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Regards,

John.

As JZ said. Another possible might be the Molex connectors being loose on the loom. I don't know the Cali and there are a lot of different versions.

Molex connectors usually live close the steering head under the tank. As I recall there are 2 for the loom itself and separate ones for each of the switchgear.

How's the battery earth connection while you are at it, clean corrosion free and tight?

You mention MOT so I suspect you're on of them pesky Brits, I'm in Glasgow

Och aye I'm a pesky Brit but then as you scots say 'we're a' Jock Tamson's bairns', and when it comes to my Cali and the money I spend on it 'mony a mickle maks a muckle.
I bet our friends on the other side of the pond are wondering what the hell all this means and thinking Ah dinnae ken what he's on aboot!
But anyway back to my native tongue and I think the general consensus is for me to take off the tank and attack all of the connectors I can find, I've checked the battery connectors and they are O.K. So orf with the tank it will be.

Let's see, "We're all in the same boat" and "It's nickel and dime-ing me to death."

"Aboot"? Canadian...

Ive listened with keen interest your problem and the numerous fixes.
I agree. Yank the tank , (kiwi for, "take it orf mate" )
Clean up those multi pin plugs under there .
Keep the bike alive , dont lay it up , that sounds too much like lay it down .
Good luck
Regards Supaflee

Problem sorted, it had a short on the indicator wiring, it shares a common earth with the side lights and so had blown them as well, thanks to everyone for helping with this one.
John.
