With o2 opt and no db killer will bike run well?

I have a Mistral crossover and oval pipe on my Breva V1100. I also put Todd's O2 optimizer on. Here's my dilemma, the bike now with teh o2 opt runs great with or without the db killer, at least from the seat of my pants.

There is plenty of evidence out their that new Guzzis have better fueling with the db killer in, but I do like the sound so much without the db killer.

My question, is it likely to be that the o2 optimizer enriches the fuel in such a way as to allow the open pipe to work as well with or without the db killer, or am I just dreaming?

I want the bike to run as well as it can, and hate the idea of giving up power by taking the db killer out, but ohh the sound!!

Isn't the O2 Opt. adjustable? The ad says it improves fueling at low speed. So you'll probably run lean w/o the db killer at high speed if you're not already. Check you spark plug color with db killer in and out using new plugs.

These bikes (5AM ECUs) run lean from the factory so modifying the exhaust w/o improving the fueling will lean the mixture further. Not sure, but the O2 Opt. may work well for a stock bike only?

What year is your Breva 1100? There is ane improved factory map available albeit provides only little improvement. Best bet is to at least get a PC-V from GT and the reflashed ECU and AutoTune to make "it run as well as it can". Or get a cheapo band-aid like Memjet to enrich the mixture enough to keep the motor from running too lean.

The biggest reports of fueling issues without a db killer in the pipe have come from people with 8v motors as I recall. The 8v motor it has been suggested has more overlap and/or flows more air/fuel mix through the motor without a restriction in the exhaust that it runs worse with or without fueling adjustments. The older 2v motors seem to do okay either way but the quality of you fueling adjustments will decide how well the bike runs, with or without a db killer installed.
What you can afford is what you can afford but I went with the full setup from Todd and have been happy ever since.
