Hi, just adjusted valve clearances on 09 8v done nothing else now won’t start. Put it back in neutral after the job but no neutral light just side stand warning light, fuses under the seat are ok. Not touched electrics except plugs so can’t see what’s happened. Only got the bike yesterday so I don’t know it very well yet.
 
The bike will not start with the sidestand down if the neutral signal is not there.

Put side stand up, squeeze clutch and try to start.

You may have a bad neutral switch.
