Wanted to VDSTS Don's SS, but the driver for the adapter was elusive, anyway, Don got the SS running super sweet, sounded great. After dicking around for a while, I was able to get the right driver and tuned up the Griso.... Kind of odd, when Pete was here, we turned the sacred screw, and the bike ran great, but idled a bit rough. I found the TPS set to 7 degrees and reset it to 4.6 and it seemed to idle a bit better, but had much more popping on overrun.... Any suggestions?

Tell me this boy aint freaky....

Many folks are able to use a twinmax without welding it to the bike....

NO PC's were harmed in the tuning of this bike

VSDTS'n the Griso, TPS was at 7 degrees due to me and Pete's shadetree mechanican, ran good, reset it and now pops quite a bit more on overun and backing off the throttle????

Yo Pete, Todd, Greg, Todd, any suggestions on dialin in my Griso, it runs like stink after idle, but pops and idles rough. Me and Pete dicked with it for a few hours, then he had to go back to Oz.... I watched Don dick with his SS and get it running perfect today, may try the same shadetree practice with my Griso... Pete and I disconnected the stepper motor, no change, so I dont think that is the problem,.....Don, wants to dial in my griso

Funny, my Norge runs great-& also pops like crazy on the over run. My conclusion is, let it pop, I care a whole lot more about it running well. M/C Consumer News liked the poping, listed it as a plus on their very positive '07 Norge review.

gb, look closely for a cracked exhaust crossover.
We have seen several cause just the symptom you describe.
Use your wifes' leather glove(plug pipe) to check for an exhaust leak on cold start.

Makes a bigger difference than you can believe.

HTH.

Todd, you sayin' a cracked crossover might cause poppin' on decel, otherwise run fine? I thought pretty much all the Norge's popped on decel, I thought it was part of the "character". Re: "cold start" -you mean bike not warmed up, or something else? My Norge at least starts pretty much right up no matter what the ambient temp, & pops pretty much always on the decel, maybe more so going down hill-when of course would be spending more time with throttle turned down.

Touching exhaust is best done when the bike is first started.

Some pop more than others.
Cracks at the crossover greatly increase the level of popping.
We had a 1200 Sport the owner was ready to get rid of, it popped so bad.
You couldn't really hear the exhaust leak untill the muffler was plugged a little.
Crossover fixed it, he's happy.
