I took advantage of the good weather yesterday and had a run round the south Lake District. The traffic was horrendous from Kendal to Ambleside but when you get on this little road there's very few who'll brave a trip along here.

Iainw.

Nice photo's, you where lucky with the weather, and had a good run out, we've had a lot of rain and some flooding in area's.
I managed to get out and headed for Keswick via Whinlater forest, there's a lot of good roads in the county, but with lack of funding are deteriating badely.

Mind, You picked a bad time to go from Kendal to Ambleside, anytime is bad a specially in summer, you missed out the best bit from Ambleside to Keswick along Thirlmere, brill.

Nice breva 1100, my last Guzzi was the 1200 breva, really a good bike I still regret selling it.

Marshy.

Ambleside to Keswick along Thirlmere... I've done that several times, often early on a Sunday in the summer, before everyone wakes up. Beautiful. Another spectacular view is when heading south as Crummock Water comes into view then the ride along the lake side.

Went over both passes a couple of weeks ago, had forgotten what a gnarly ,narrow road through it was, but a blast anyway with superb views. Imagine being a Roman soldier all those years ago, posted at Hardknott , spending winter up there in just flip flops , they must have been tough.
