Many yesrs ago I had a Suzuki twin which I removed the exhaust balance and went 2 into 1 as opposed to 2 into to. The power band jump higher on the rev range. I wonder what effect a breva xover. Will we see more bar vibrations because the balancing effect of the cat is no longer there. Some aftermarket systems have a lot of springs on them, I heard the o2 sensor is crystal and can be damaged by vibration. Does the O2 sensor just unscrew? Should get my xover this week. Wanted one of these but couldn't afford it:

So I fitted my xover but the foot of the side stand in the up position fouls the oem exhaust. Inside the exhaust there is some steel gasket which I scraped out thinking I could force the xover and exhaust union closer therby mving the exhaust inward away from the stand. The side stand has a lot of movement at right angles to its normal travel direction. Is this normal? I guess the pivot point is deliberately slack?? If Icould tighten the pivot with the stand foot furthest form the exhaust that would work.Pls see pic

Try loostening the pipe at the header connections and tap it back a little. Next step would be to take a small section out of the kick stand or change the angle of the foot to clear the muffler
You can also try swinging the crossover to the right side. It will swing if you loosten the head pipes. The connection of the muffler is very tight to the frame.

thanks for the tips. looking at the bike again I can see the headers and xover are indeed set to far to the stand side. I'll slacken every thing and move it over. The old cat bag was held in the correct place but the crossover is trial and error. the bike sounds louder and deeper. It revs more freely. Which xover to fit? I think it doesn't matter as long as you fit one, it's down to price.

The mistal xover I bought I now now is compromised by the o2 sensor in that it fouls the frame therefore the exhaust system shioft 1 inch to the left thereby fouling the stand. The workarounds are to fit a slacker spring on the side stand, rubber boot on it's tip and a rubber insert in its pivot point to limit travel. Also a rubber gromet on the exhaust center stand stop because the can has move an inch left and the stand missing the rubber stop. Here is a pic of the o2 sensor hitting the frame. I put a bit of rubber behind it to lessen the vibration.

what ever the xover you fit it's a smart move. Here a breva de-cated.

Brevas have a reputation for losing their mounting bolts. It would pay to check to see if yours are still there or very loose. Loctite will help keep them in place.
