Good morning!
Took my new bike out for a quick first ride (only has 12 miles on it), and the yellow triangle stays on. Looked over my manual again and it “should” signify the TC is off? When I finished my quick 3 mile up and down the road and keyed it off to check the settings I thought it said the tc was on. Gonna check again today. Oh...and I did not put in my personal code prior to the ride. Would that cause the yellow light as well? Manual not specific with regards to that.....

Not sure about the personal code causing the light to be on. Do be sure to document the user code. Best place is the owner's manual in case you forget or for the next owner.

Thank you guys appreciate the feedback. I’ve resolved it “somehow”. Backtracking my steps I may have inadvertently turned off the traction control. Since the bike is so new, I need to get used to the somewhat vague button that you push to navigate. Took it for another quick ride this am and light out, runs great. Now if my registration would get to me I can actually take it for a RIDE. Gotta go out to do a test run in the car and check for ice beforehand and plan my route. It’s a cozy 28 degrees here.

Just be aware because of the composition of motorcycle tires they don't have much traction from 27 degrees F and lower.

Thanks John. I keep my bike on the road all year and manage to get out now and again to avoid the winter blues. Lesson from a few years ago....a 29 degree day, out on my past ST1300, dry roads.....except when i crossed a river and the curved bridge had a slight, barely discernible glaze....ST13 went into a textbook powerslide. Don’t ask how, but I managed to save it since the crossing was not too big, and she bit into some solid dry tar. I thought for sure I’d highside, but the weight of that bike and maybe years of motocross racing had a little to do with the save. Phew...lesson learned. I’ll be careful...:)

Always better to be lucky than good.
