You buncha slackers

Only did a little better than 400 miles this week, but most of them were quality miles in the SMMs. It even felt good doing 80 on the 405 in my summer jacket going down to hang out at MGC. :D
This guy, Jonathan, came up on me on the snake. I'd almost forgotten to watch my mirrors. :D pulled over and waved him on. I was outgunned.. he said the first set of tires on the Tuono he was testing lasted 1800 miles.  Nice guy, an enthusiast..

Went to Latigo Canyon today. Although there were a lot of motorcycles on PCH, there was no one on the latigo canyon loop. Nice ride with the road to myself.

And yes, on the way back, I passed a tenni Griso on PCH going towards SM. First Griso sighting on the road for me.

cheers,

abhi

I'd like to catch up with you guys this week, but I'm stuck on call-in Jury duty this week. Here's a week of my life I'll never get back! Sucks!

Nice. I had a few friends/neighbors here on the hill that got tickets on Friday in a multi-car sting fashion on Stunt Rd. Just FYI.

The green G8V is a good friend of mine from Venice. Funny that he text messaged me yesterday to tell me he saw a BD. ;)

There was a large REO presence in the hills today, I cut my ride short. Discretion being the better part of valor and all that.. :D I assumed it was because of the really nice wx. There were several sport bikes in the hills.
Met a guy on a Gixxer on Piuma today. He was from the MSF, and said they had 100 bikes instrumented like this. Everything from a Rebel 250 to a Lead Wing. Forward facing radar, cameras front and rear, sensors on the engine and brakes, accelerometers, yada yada. The data is fed into a big hard drive not unlike the black box on an airliner, that holds enough for 8000 miles. Besides finding out what really happens in a crash (there have been some,) they hope to find the habits of the "good" riders that avoid that crash. The year long test is about over, but it'll be a while before anything is published. I'm giving them a thumbs up on this study.
Nice guy, and an enthusiast. He was taken with the Scura, but admitted he was clueless about Guzzis. I told him the key was in it.. but he politely declined..

Well, the miracle continues :) . I met Andy on Mullholand hwy today who had the same 2013 Griso and bought it from Monica ! He said he has talked with you a few times. And while we were talking, saw another red guzzi go by. Don't know what that was.

Bout time we had another study since the trailblazing Hurt study of the 70's that actually takes the trouble to try to figure out what happens in an accident. Pretty much all the studies since-until this one, apparently-just push numbers around and pretend to come up with conclusions that are worth a damn-which they pretty much are not.

I rode down to Ranibow yesterday for breakfast all freeway boredom. About 5 miles north of Temecula the traffic parked and I had to split lanes the next 8 or so. Sucked. After breakfast, the guys decided to ride the avocado fields, Deluz, etc, but I had to head home for the Jury duty call in. Disgusting! The only fun part was coming through carbon Canyon and that wasn't as great as usual, with traffic ahead of me. The weather was nice, high 50s, low 60s. Still getting a lot of compliments on the Zards.
