I've replaced the cam sensor on mine and adjusted the air gap to about 0.6mm (it was 0.9 and I thought it was supposed to be 0.6 to 0.7 so Johns response is interesting)
I still need to take it for a proper ride but now it starts on the button with no catching it on the throttle.
I did notice that (subjectively) the new sensor was more magnetic than the old one, so coupled with a larger air gap, I guess the old sensor could have been lying to the ECU by providing a weak or poorly timed trigger point?
