Afternoon all

I've noticed that when I'm stopped in traffic with the engine idling, after a few minutes the revs go up

This repeats every time I stop

I don't think it's an issue, and guess it's to help with cooling when there's no airflow

Can anyone enlighten me as to exactly why it's doing this?

Cheers

Idle is controlled by the ECU. Moto Guzzi has set it this way but as we Italians say, “Boh..” 🤷‍♂️

😄

I don't doubt it Scott !!!

Does upping the revs to put more oil through the cooler ... if it has one ... make sense

Agreed.

I would imagine oil pressure issues and electrical generation. 🤷‍♂️

One can only guess, seeing how everything is a secret with Moto Guzzi. Especially paint codes for the last 100 years! 😆

I have this same issue with my new to me V9 Roamer. I have checked about everything I can think of……T-cable adjustment, temp sensor, valves, filters, possible exhaust/intake leaks. I believe it’s as Scott said above, something in the ECU. Could possibly be throttle body needs TPS reset, otherwise the bike runs fine🤨

I can speak with 100% certainty that the ECU raises idle when hot. TPS MUST be reset at every service (minimally) for optimal running, in my decades of experience.
