Never satisfied, being a Guzziholic I NEED another Guzzi, but due to finances and my wife's urging. ("Why do you need three bikes when you only have one bum?")
I agreed to sell the Griso and the Breva so I could buy my dream bike.
The Griso sold. 😭 the Breva hasn't sold yet. 😁
Almost a year...
About a year after that, while at the "Ruptured Budgie" Guzzi rally I found a 1400 Eldorado for sale at a great price and having cash from my Singapore Superannuation, snapped it up.
Stripped and polished the valve covers and changed the rear brake master cylinder for a silver alloy one and...
A year or so after buying the Breva and a bit better off financially, I started looking for a bigger Guzzi. I came across an 8 valve, 1200 Griso that was for sale at a price I couldn't refuse. I bought it even though it wasn't red.
I fitted a Dart flyscreen, Hepko and Becker crash bars and...
Four years or so later,.... I had to part ways with my Bellagio when I moved back to Australia. I actually shed a tear when the prospective buyer said he would buy it. Anyway, back in Oz I found myself financially challenged and the only Guzzi I could afford was a 750 Breva. Great bike, but not...
I recently sold an 8V 1200 Griso and miss it so much I WANT TO REPLACE IT.
I just found an 850 Griso for sale at a great price. I am sure I would be happy with it's 75 horsepower. 75 Horses is all my Bellagio had, and it was more than enough. (My Bella below, after a V7 style makeover.)
I...
Hepko and Beckers. Worked great on my Bellagio. Similar design. Saved a lot of damage in a 10kmh slide.
Blend in and disappear against the black frame (on the Bellagio) and engine on the the Griso.
Nah! Had to leave two in Sing when I moved back to Australia, a 940 Bellagio and an 1100 Jackal. Since then I have bought a 750 Breva and a 1200 Griso. Did a bit of customising on all of them. Sold the Griso after getting the Eldorado.
Anyway, back to the garage. Just finished adjusting the...
I've had my Eldorado for a few months now. Love it.
Just got home from a 4500km trip. (about 2,800 miles) The bike was great. Did half of the miles hands free, on cruise control, steering with body weight. Didn't realise I was doing it half the time. Just came natural to me.
Anyways, When I...
Lost my plug on my Jackal. Found a rubber bung that fit nicely. My mechanic told me not to worry. If it does get in the cogs, it can't cause any damage. Don't worry. Be happy.
Hi James. What is the "Intermittent" issue with Cruise control? I have an Eldorado. Cruise works great, the only thing is if you hit a big pothole/bump the Cruise shuts off. Not great when you are riding hands free, steering with body weight. 🤪
Wow $500! You gotta shop around. Ive seen used but nice, chrome, heel toe shifters for fifty bucks on ebay. Keep looking.
Btw. I Agree that the california range are under rated. They are great bikes!
It is original. I just chromed it. Take a look on ebay.com there are lots of guzzi parts for sale in th USA. Im sure you can find one and the shipping may not be too bad via the global shipping program. Good luck!
Sounds like a good thing. My 940 Bellagio spec sheet states the top speed is 196kmh. A bit of an understatement. I've had it up to 210kmh and had more revs to go, but I had to slow down for traffic.
Does the factory understate top speeds to keep the Euro regulators happy ?
A friend suggested...
I have a 2001 Jackal. It has pushrods activating the rocker arms. After about 100 Jap bikes this is the bike that has turned me into an unrepentant Guzziholic. I never want any other brand bike now. The Jackal has tons of torque, pulls like Arnold Schwarzennegger at 16 and in the words of a...
