The bushes in the "doggone" of my 2006 Breva V1100 have worn out. Has anyone any tips on suppliers, whether it would prudent to replace all the other rear suspension bushes, and suggestions as to how to go about replacing the bushes. Thanks from a Guzzi rider from New Zealand

Steve, all the bushes are little bearings with dust/moisture caps - most likely the caps were not fitted correctly and the bearing have dried themselves out, and converted what was once good metal into rusty metal. You need a supply of said bearings (not expensive from memory) and seals, and some patience as you disassemble, clean, replace reassemble all. Remember to mark which way the aluminium section goes.

I'm in the process of replacing mine, cost of new bearings, seals and bearing spigots is as much as new dogbone complete.

The position of said bone is just behind exhaust junction so the grease gets cooked out.

Hi again, as I only had to replace 2 of the needle rollers in my dog bone I just went through a dealer and they were not expensive, if fact cheaper then some of the after market suppliers. But if you need a complete set plus inner bushes then maybe a complete unit would be cost effective. Remove the bushes and clean them up first and if there is no major pitting then you just need bearings. How are you placed to remove and replace the bearings yourself?

Hi Fiat 500.I have just removed all 7 roller bearings as they were all flogged out. The inner bushes cleaned up well. Our local Saeco dealers have been able to supply all 7 bearings at a cost of $160.00 NZ including GST and freight. As this will be an overnight delivery service , I will have the bearings overnight and be riding again tomorrow afternoon. I will post the bearing numbers when i pick them up tomorrow for anyone elses future reference. I recently had to replace my diff seal and sourced a seal from a local BMW agent. While this seal was an 85x110x10 compared with the original Guzzi seal of 85x110x8 this did not prove to be a problem as the seal still finished inside the dust covers mating point. This was much quicker solution than waiting for the seal to come from Italy. The cost of the seal was $63.00 NZ including freight and delivery. The BMW seal no is 33121241938.

Thks for the detail post doing my rear suspension next just finishing the forks etc. mine an 06 and everything is knakered at 90k miles

Make sure you grease them with water proof grease (any good marine trailer supplier can get you some) - mine is blue, though can't be seen from without...
