Friend of mine offered me this v7 for an obscenely low price, so what could I do? History is back in 2013 a builder botched a big bore job and it didn't run right. My friend, not being a mechanic, was so frustrated by the whole affair and left the bike sitting till last month when he decided to dump it off on me.
Anyway I find the left cylinder is running cold at low RPM's so I check for spark and fuel, which it has. Battery is fully charged, compression is 220 and 230psi...Hmm. So I pull the seat & side covers off and find a DynoJet Power Commander V. Things are getting interesting!
I find the Intake Air Temp sensor hanging free. The builder had stuffed two K&N air filters on it and didn't fit the sensor into one of them. I also found the ECU flopping in the breeze, not bolted to anything, but this is all beside the point of this post - I found a fried/melted wire that has a connector that looks like it may have gone to the battery (because of the type connector) so I need to find out where this wire goes.
I've looked at some PDF wiring diagrams and they're not clear enough to decipher. Does anyone know where this wire attaches to and can anyone recommend a PDF version of the manual that has a good readable wiring diagram? I've tried to find an actual hard copy manual on-line but it appears they're very scarce.
Thanks
John
