easy rider
Just got it firing!
I'm about to purchase a V7 2013 Stone, looks pretty good from the photos, I will be going down to see it in person in a day or two. It only has 12k kms on the clock. Currently with 2nd owner who purchased 5 years ago with about 6k kms on the clock, he has a few bikes so this is just an occasional fair weather machine he's selling.
Currently having some sensors repaired, apparently been waiting for months for these sensors that cost $1100 AUD so I'm told, not sure if that includes installation or what particular sensors it would be.
I'm coming from a GS500 which I work on myself, so I'm going to be moving to shaft drive and fuel injection both of which will be out of my comfort zone, not exactly sure how valves will be, probably easier than GS I'm guessing just remove the cover and easy to get to?.
I have been warned about final drive leaks, I had a look at the particular thread but I'm not sure if this is a common problem or just a known occasional problem. So my question to the forum is when I go to have a close inspection of the bike, are there some specific questions I need to ask, or specific things to look for or to listen for?
Am I being unduly nervous?
Any clues at all would be greatly appreciated.
Here's a photo which doesn't say much. Other than it has orange shocks which do not look aftermarket in spite of being orange, and there are no front fork gaiters, but again I don't know if that because of a cosmetic removal or maybe springs were upgraded current owner doesn't seem to know. However does have after market cans, so you never know.
EDIT: just spoke to the workshop. Looks like a Lambar and timing sensor, they'll be checking any error codes that pop up so everything seems good on that side.
