I am having an issue with my 2019 Moto Guzzi V7 III and I am hoping someone has a good idea.
When I power on the bike the rear brake flashes, then stays on as if a break lever has been activated.
Has anyone diagnosed this before? Do I need to replace the front and/or rear brake switch?

Situation:
V7 III Rough
Bake has been running for over year with no issues.
No changes have been made in over a year.
Brake light stays on.
Fuses are all unbroken.
Wheeles freely spin; the bike stops when applying either the front or rear brake.
May of 2022 SATO rear sets were put on, this includes a new brake switch.
December 2021 LED taillight put in.

What I have done:
Replaced the rear bulb with a stock incandescent and spare LED - no change Brake Light stays on at full power.
I have removed the front and rear switch from the electrical:
-I cut both electrical wires to the rear brake - brake light goes out
-Unplugged the electrical leads to the front brake switch - brake light goes out
Verified the fluid level in the brake system and did a fluid change (SATO suggestion) - no change Brake Light stays on at full power.

Thank you for taking the time to review this.

Closing the loop on this saga, the issue ended up being the front brake microswitch.

I replaced the rear brake switch and I was still experiencing the issue of turning on the bike the rear light flashes and stays on. What I have discovered is the following:
-If I disconnect the front switch electrical connections the brake light goes out
-At this point if I press the rear brake pedal the rear light activates
-If I jump the front brake connections the rear brake light comes on and stays on

What I did not know is how the front brake microswitch works. When the front brake is not engaged this is the off position of the switch (broken contact). when you pull the front brake lever this disengages the mechanical part of the switch and makes the connection e.g. pushed in is off and released is on.

If I press the microswitch past the normal point it operates as expected, so bad spring / contact inside the switch.
I have ordered a replacement (03749845) and all should be well.
