Jake Apiata, the Kiwi expatriate who began his career as a machinist building Le Mans replica cars (C and D-type Jags, as well as the Ford GT40!) in his native land of New Zealand, then worked for none other than Lazareth Auto Moto upon his move to France. For the last six years, Jake has operated his own small shop, Apiata Metal Shaping. Now he’s just finished this incredible Moto Guzzi V100 “Le Mans” for Switzerland’s Moto Furia, a large multi-brand dealership out of Lausanne.

That's gorgeous!
The switchback muffler is unusual.
600 hours of work to build it.
It can be won from the dealership. You buy a T-shirt to enter.

What? No aero wings!? Hehe😁 I certainly appreciate the lineage nod, and time and effort put into this. And, I like certain aspects of the build. A no -switchback shorty exhaust would be interesting. Replacing the three “vents” with three circles is novel too. But, personally, I feel the long front-to-back seat/tank straight line took away the beautiful curves of our V’s. IMO of course. Cheers!

hmmmmmmmm lots of ideas I like, here, but somehow it doesn't quite come together for me...

No carbon, too shiny... LOL
I've mixed feelings about it... I think bike is too modern for that classic cafe style, maybe spoked wheels would suit better for it. Either way, craftsmanship is neat and I'm stealing that muffler idea!

Funny. To me, the exhaust is literally the worst part of the bike. Clearly done by someone who doesn't know or care about flow or power/performance.

Unfortunately, nearly all “custom” modifications on every marque that came into my hands or workshop over the years, was made 10x worse by these so-called “aftermarket or custom built upgrades”. There are exceptions to this but they are truly rare in my experience.

I stand on my well-expressed opinion. I detest “cafe racers”. They take a great motorcycle and just destroy it in my eye.
