I dug out my old Centerstand Lift I used to use for my various Harleys.
It worked really well on the 1400 although it didn't lift the wheel totally off the ground, I could still spin it by hand. (Front or rear depending on where the stand is placed).
That is the first time I have seen the "head guards" installed.

Do you find that they interfere with your legs at all?

Hmmmm, I measure the unladen height of the lower rails @ 190mm (7.5"). Since the link says that the CenterStand will not work on bikes with more than 7 inches of ground clearance when measured with the bike vertical, I think I will avoid it. I appreciate that you've made it work for you.
Instead I've found this version, which has a height range of 7-10".

A third of the price too, with free shipping within the USA. Is there a catch?
Just ordered the one from Pit Posse.

Ok, here's the deal....
Don't order this product.
1. It's a piece of crap. Made in China.
2. I had to finish drilling some of the holes. Their bolts wouldn't go all the way through from one side to the other.
3. It's to flimsy to lift the California. The handle was starting to bend, so I had to quit. See #1.
4. My bike has pannier's and the handle interferes.
5. If you have floor boards, and I know you do, you are still S.O.L.
6. And there are no instructions.
You get what you pay for and this was cheap.
You will be disappointed.
I'm sending mine back.
