I have a dual-plug LMI with a Dyna and Andrews coils, which haven't been made since Nixon was sweaty on B+W TV.

One has gone bad which prompted me to buy Dyna coils. Whose mounting tab orientation is 90 degrees off from the old ones, rendering the existing hardware useless.

So. Somebody out there has run into this. Has a run of such brackets been made someplace? Has anyone got or seen a very tidy design to solve this prob? Something I can fab up at home with basic tools, and even more basic skills? IMG 1309

Looks like you could used the existing backing plate. Fab two pieces of small angle iron to support the coils. I'd weld a plate to the angle iron to bolt it to the backing plate. You can them determine the angle for the coils by rotating the position of the angle iron.

I would hit the local hardware store for a couple small 90 degree angle brackets. If those standoffs for the original setup screw on then maybe remove them and make some new square ones with holes going through the sides. A taller bracket would work but better would be a square piece like a 1/2" key stock. Tap a hole in the bottom and drill through the sides then mount it up.
