Just got it firing!
I just completed my first oil change on the 2011 V7 Classic. I bought the bike with 1000 miles on it. I purchased the oil change kit from AF1 racing that included 2L Agip 10-60 and filter.
The next maintenance interval is 4700 miles or so, and I wanted to do the oil change at roughly half way between the initial change and the 4700 mark.
I noticed a contradiction between the service manual and the owners manual on checking the oil. The oil change went smoothly but I am wondering which method is correct for checking the level.
Page 127 of the Owners Manual states "The engine oil level must be performed with engine warm and the dipstick completely screwed in.
Page 26 of the Service manual states " Unscrew the dip stick clean it, reinsert in but do not screw it in. Remove the Dipstick and check the level."
It seems to me that these would cause a difference in the reading by close to the distance between the min - max indicators.
Which process is correct?
