Hi!

I really need some help - I have this exhaust on my V7 Stone and my flange nut has come off while riding and I can no longer thread a flange nut onto one of the posts.

I've ordered the following from McMaster and I can't get anything onto the post (there's not enough threading exposed after the flange is on there):

https://www.mcmaster.com/90372A121/

Does anyone have any advice here? Do the posts need to be replaced somehow? Should I fabricate a new flange that exposes more of the threading?

I've attached pictures of the right side (with original parts) and the left (problematic) side.

FWIW, my 2015 V7 always needed tightening, but the 2017 only once. I think it was as much the gaskets as anything.
They are just studs you can screw out. heat the heads first.
When my 98EV broke a stud 400 miles from home, I replaced it with a stainless steel allen head bold from Ace. Still in there 60,000 miles later.

Could the gasket be the issue? I recently replaced the headers on my V85TT and the kit came with replacement gaskets. The original gaskets on my bike were somewhat thick, and the replacements were much thinner copper. The difference in thickness could equate to more threads for the nut to gain purchase on.

The McMaster nuts have a deeply recessed thread. They will not work on the V7. You must use the stock versions or similar.
