Before the Audace was released I removed the heavy metal shrouds from the front forks as I personally didn't like the look.

I fitted some fork protectors I was sent by a friend but didn't know the origins of them.

Kiwi Dave asked about them and I finally tracked down their source in case anyone else is interested.

Turns out they are for the Triumph Speed Triple and are a genuine Triumph part.
Made of plastic they fit easily on to the forks

What was involved in removing the black covers? Did you have to drop the fork tube out of the triple tree?

I visited Experience Motorcycles in Kingsland today to pick up an oil filter. They had a Triumph Speed Triple on the showroom floor, so I took a look at the forks. I'm sceptical that the fork protectors came off a Speed Triple, especially this model.

I did see some fork protectors on a couple of Bonneville models, but the stanchions were smaller than the Cali 1400.
