So the long wait produced another fine creation is finally ready. Shown below, pricing is on par with the Griso L/S slip-on at $549. I have a revised fuel map with this muffler via PC-V.

Fantastic design, looks nice, now to get a fueling computer to take advantage of it..... ahhh everything comes to those what wait. But of course that reminds me we are still waiting to see a Stelvio let alone start farkling......

The advantage of a huge muffler like the stock one is that it still manages to make a visual statement even at its high position. Even more so when a rack is mounted in front ot if. Don't you think that lowering the pipe somewhat would draw more, undoubtedly merited, attention to the pipe?

No, many reasons not to, including that lovely exposed SSS (single sided swingarm) & wheel.

No, the muffler does not connect to the pannier mounts. Optical illusion if it looks like it. This can be run with or without any bags, including the OEM versions.

How loud is it compared to the OEM muffler? How well does it work with the stock FI mapping? Does removing the intake snorkel improve the richness of the OEM mapping? Just a few questions before I invest in this work of art!

Hi Kurt, the stock muffler can barely be heard compared to this one. While it's not loud, it does give the bike that nice deep Guzzi sound it deserves. It runs fine with stock (variant 2) mapping, but it is in dire need of correction. I would not recommend pulling the snorkel until I am able to offer something, as the only place it would help is 100% throttle. All other areas are way lean.

Happy to get you one, the proto shown above is still available.

How about a sound bite that we could listen too of the new muffler at idle, 1/4, 1/2 and WFO. It would be nice if it was compared to the stock muffler. Sound bites could be taken from the passenger pillion.

My Stelvio is used as a 2 - up dialy commuter, 142 miles a day. I just got rid of a noisy HD Ultra that I installed V&H True Duals, gave the wife and I a head ache. Between the noisy exhaust and the constant overheating of the extra lean HD mapping we got sick in tired of sitting on the side of the road once the thing to decided to shut down in rush hour traffic. I tried a Power Commander and a Thunder Max to solve the overheating and neither could solve the problem. So far the Stelvio has not had any issues with the hot, humid rush hour traffic temps in the Washington DC area.

Right now (with ear plugs) it sounds like the Stelvio has a nice growl, people standing on the side of the road say it sounds good, but I also have a Caponord with Remus cans and it really sounds good. Kinda like a Duck.

I would like a nice sound but I don't want a head ache, plus I do not want to deal with a Power Commander either. Faking the stock ECU is not the way to reprogram a bike for proper operation. If the ECU in its stock form will work with your aftermarket muffler I could be very interested.

Kurt, can't do a sound clip right now, as the bike was a loaner... and is long gone, and the pipe is here in my garage. I'd say this would sound very similar to your Capo w/Remus cans. It has a nice deep sound to it, and comes with the db-killer installed (mandatory right now).

As for the fueling... problem is in trying to get enough people to buy into a ECU completely programmed. Elsewhere, I have asked how many would spend $750~1000 USD to do this. I have only a few. This is a HUGE investment of money and time for me, but I'd be willing to do it if I could recoup my cost. Not looking this way so far.
As for the PC... it does not "fool" the ECU. Other things out there do. The new PC-V will allow input using AutoTune to build your own map. That alone is worth it... that is a solution alternative with a modified OEM ECU right now as well. How much are you willing to spend for a solution?

Interesting idea Todd ,but I am reluctant to mess with my bike at the moment as it's still got a year and a half of warranty left and unfortunately from what I can tell we're a little short of Guzzi expertise up here in the north. How would one go about the mapping as So-Cal isn't really a short weekend run away? I do know of a shop locally with a dyno , who's owner does happen to have a Cx-100 he recently aquired. Did You have no concrete interest in this?

FBC, lower RPM adjustment is handled by the ECU/02-sensor... and higher RPM is already WAY rich. So, bolting on this pipe will not cause any issues. I ran it on the bike shown for several hundred miles, with zero issues... aside from some lower RPM surging which was evident, even stock. This bike had the V2 map uploaded.

As for warranty work, just hang on to your stock muffler, and pop it back on as needed.

I may have a buyer for the one shown above, but we can build to order. Usually <2 weeks.

For those of you that are thinking about this Exhaust for your Stelvio, I would say GO FOR IT. Its sound is deep and mean. :angry: I found it to be a little loud when riding with my visor up but not annoying in any way. It's got beef!! I pulled the visor down and it sounds just like the stock one. The look is sleek!! The pictures do not do it justice. Seeing it on the bike gave it a totally different effect. Much Nicer!!
