Yes, I know Peter, but it really chaps my hide with the bashing of Moto Guzzi, Carmo, everybody but the real guilty party.
Taking responsibility for one’s actions (or inaction) these days just seems to be a rare thing anymore.
Scott, I agree with you in principle, but this seems a wound that Piaggio inflicted but that makes buyers -- especially those as Raven mentions -- bleed.
Perhaps motorcycle theft is a very big deal in some places, but I wonder if a flashing light and this key code really deters anyone.
And, even conceding that it might, to me the real question to me is how many Guzzis are stolen?
Again, maybe they are hot items in Europe or Asia. And, perhaps I misperceive the reality here, but what I suspect is their almost-zero theft rate in North America is the root cause of the malaise that leads U.S. owners not to take the reasonable, useful, and, FTM, occasionally essential steps you recommend.
Kathi is gone for the day, off giggling with old friends in Gettysburg. So, I'm headed down to the Moto Grappa to do my most well-practiced task: nothing at all.
