So I bought a V7, and it's an absolute shitbox. Looks like a crackhead used to own it. Fenders and gas tanks are rattle can painted, and it looks like they didn't even take the pieces off when they painted them, so there is paint spray on other nearby components. Great.

I am trying to source the cheapest fenders and side covers money can buy. It's a 2013 with 17,000 km and deserves better than her current state, but the price was too good and I'm a glutton for rescuing a damsel in distress so I bought her.

All advice is welcome on where to source stuff. I've managed to find a $40 "mini" fender. Not my first choice of style, but if it fits on arrival, it stays. What else should I look for, and where?

Thank you :)

Another alternative with winter approaching is to remove the body work and take them to a body shop to be painted the way you want it. Might be less money than replacement components.

Hey guys. Already bought one part from ebay, it should be here some time *squints* holy crap, November.

Re: repainting, yes, problem with the crackhead bike is that the it was painted over and the paint is all runny, it would need to be stripped and trying to sand plastic down... I dunno... at least with the Triumph I had metal fenders so it was easy. My V7 Stone, not so much :(

Body shop guys know how to sand down plastic parts. It is their job and they are professionals.

A little update... a lot of rust in the gas tank. Carlo at Moto Motori in Toronto put it through two rounds of cleaning, he put in a good used fuel pump because he said mine was on its way out, he also put in a new filter and good used screen, lastly some new clamps.

Now I'm working on sanding down the paint on the tank, but I am missing a seal for the fuel tank (under the cap) which won't be available until mid December because getting Piaggio parts in Canada sucks... womp womp.

At least I found an aftermarket mini fender for like $40, so, that saved me some money. Repainting some of the plastic black seems to have come out alright in the mean time. The bike is in fewer pieces than it has been in a while.
